Gen Z vs Millennials: how are they different? We're talking about bags, of course.

Gen Z vs Millennials: how are they different? We're talking about bags, of course.

These bags are the millennial and Gen Z versions of each other. Both 17cm classic silhouettes by Chanel.

Like all different generations, they don't look alike. They don't think alike. Let's meet them and understand their differences.

Alora, 0 Series Mini Square 17cm Black Lambskin with seal and card:

Berry, 21 Series Square 17cm Black Champagne Light Lambskin with seal and card:

Silhouette

As you can see, the millennial Alora is squarish and angular.

Gen Z Berry, however, is more spherical. There's a beautiful softness to her silhouette.

Mona Lisa back pocket

Even from behind, you can see they do not look alike.

Alora has a structural, beautiful, symmetrical Mona Lisa back pocket.

Berry's back pocket, in contrast, is softer, rounder, slightly different in construction.

Quilting

Of course, the most obvious thing that people always point out is actually the quilting.

Gen Z Berry has that really bubbly, bubbly quilting.

Millennial Alora, however, is much more subtle in quilting. You can see here that it's much flatter.

Affordability

Now, for the million-dollar question: Which one is more affordable?

I would say that they're actually both very similar in price point. At the end of the day, like I always say, it's actually about sartorial choice.

Which do you prefer?
