Gray is one of those colors in vintage Chanel that TURNS heads. I mean, look at this beauty:

Now gray is one of those few colors that I actually say you shouldn't try to get vintage. You should try to get new.

Just a little. The reason I say you should go new is not because I don't like them vintage. It's just because they are just so so so rare and thus command a hefty premium over their new counterparts
Exclusive to series 3 and 4
From my years of sourcing vintage Chanel flaps, I can tell you that almost all grays fall between a very, very narrow band of series, specifically between the series three and series four.
They are incredibly rare and so hard to source that actually, if you're not opposed to it, you should think about getting them new. This probably the last time you'll ever hear me say it on record that you should get it new.
